Applicable Legal Bases
Relevant legal bases under Swiss data protection law: If you are located in Switzerland, your data is processed based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Unlike the GDPR, the FADP generally does not require a specific legal basis for processing personal data. Processing must, however, be conducted in good faith, be lawful, and proportionate (Art. 6(1) and (2) FADP). Furthermore, we collect personal data only for a specific purpose that is evident to the data subject and process it only in a manner compatible with this purpose (Art. 6(3) FADP).
Use of Cookies
The term “cookies” refers to functions that store and retrieve information on users’ end devices. Cookies can serve various purposes such as functionality, security, comfort of online services, and traffic analysis.
We use cookies in compliance with legal requirements. Where necessary, we obtain prior consent. If consent is not required, processing is based on our legitimate interests, particularly where storing or retrieving information is essential to provide requested content or functionality (e.g., storing settings or ensuring online service functionality and security). Consent can be revoked at any time. We provide clear information about the scope and usage of cookies.
Legal bases for processing via cookies: Consent serves as the legal basis if provided. Without consent, processing is based on our legitimate interests, as explained in this section and in connection with specific services.
Cookie Retention Periods:
Temporary cookies (session cookies): Deleted at the latest when a user leaves the website or closes their browser/app.
Persistent cookies: Remain stored even after closing the device. They allow, for example, login status to be remembered or preferred content to be displayed during return visits. If not specified otherwise, such cookies may be stored for up to two years.
Revocation and Objection (Opt-out): Users can revoke their consent at any time and object to data processing as per legal requirements (e.g., via browser privacy settings).
Processed Data Types: Meta, communication and procedural data (e.g., IP addresses, timestamps, IDs, involved parties)
Data Subjects: Users (e.g., website visitors, online service users)
Legal Bases: Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)
Consent Management:
We use a consent management solution to obtain, document, manage, and allow the revocation of user consents—especially for cookies and similar technologies. Consent records are stored to prevent redundant queries and to demonstrate compliance. This may involve server-side storage or the use of opt-in cookies or similar technologies. If no specific provider information is given, assume the consent record may be stored for up to two years using a pseudonymous user ID, timestamp, categories, services, browser/system info, and device data.
Legal Basis: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)
